Bartonella Henselae
Hey, I'm B. henselae.
I'm a Gram Negative bacteria.
You can find me on cats and I get into you through scratches, licks or bites.
I cause Cat Scratch Disease.
I infection your lymph nodes, then make you tired and feverish for a few months.
I usually go away on my own after that.
In people whose body defences don't work properly (like AIDS), I cause quite a few more illnesses.
I cause red or purple spots on the skin called 'bacillary angiomatosis'.
I can also cause 'peliosis', little bleeds under the skin or inside you.

Fascinating. 8-)
This is how it SHOULD be done.
Love it! :)
i think you should make a giardia bio.
could you do bacillus thuringiensis? :P
you're doing a great job.I look forward to new entries. The imaginative creativity in the simple but relative and effective art work is very impressive.NPUBLICI
hahaha. and here people tell me I talk about science too much (I'm majoring in molecular and cellular bio) but you take it to a whole new level. Love it.
Really neat idea - educative in a fun way... you should make your microbes adoptable - provide the html code that other bloggers can embed in their blogs -- for e.g. i have the common cold now and i am looking to adopt a Rhinovirus :-)
Somebody went a step further and created microbe plush toys !!
Hi,
I like your blog, nice drawings. It makes me less afraid of germs. (^_^)

You might be interested in in J,the subject of my blog.He used to spray half a can of fly spray around his flat before going out,and he was very busy with the swatter. At times you,d be literally walking on hundreds of dead flys.Plenty of bacteria action there i imagine.
Hi,
You got a great idea with this blog. I'm a vet surgeon working in education. I've just sent your blog address to all the bacteriologists of the Vet School in my university.
Congratulations
Jean-Loup
Wow. You've actual managed to find a way to make these things cute (and educational!). Really unique idea.
How fantastic, I used to be a microbiologist so i love this blog!
Currently revising for a Biology exam, and this makes it much more fun! Well done, keep it up!

Well done Emma.Your optometrist is very impressed!
So simple! Why didn't I think of it!? This is a permanent gig for you; it's not like there is a shortage of microbes in the world. Nice job. Some junior high school kid is probably thinking, "this biology stuff might be fun..." (She/He would be right.)
nice! interesting! keep it up =D
I live in the Detroit metro area. Michigan has serious economic issues and only when the people pull together can the problems be overcome. It’s going to take everyone not just democrat or republican. A great place to find out about local Detroit news is GROW DETROIT
Microbs for fun and profit -
You should sell your work on cafepress. I'd love a cat scratch fever mug.
:) J.
That is definitely the most adorable microbe I have ever seen. I love your blog. Maybe you should give mine a whirl sometime. Have a gloreous day!
I hope you don't mind, but I'm adding you to my links list. If nothing else, your blog should be more infectious than it is.
Thank you admin....
